MCR AT MOPARS IN THE PARK 2007
More awards for MCR craftsmanship
This past Saturday June 2nd at Raceway Park in Shakopee, MN, Muscle Car Restorations
participated in the 23rd annual Mopars in the Park all Mopar show. The show, held inside
of a quarter mile asphalt circle track, was filled to the brim with more than enough
vintage iron to keep any Pentastar lover ecstatic all weekend long.
Besides sponsoring the Unrestored Survivor class, MCR displayed one of its more
recently completed projects a 1963 Plymouth Belvedere owned by Jack Brundage.
Built to be a replica of his first new car, Jack's 383 4-speed now looks just like the one
he drove and raced in his youth. The 383 has been stretched to 433 cubic inches and it
now spins an A-833 Hemi 4-speed but other than that, it is a period restoration.
While Jack's '63 was not eligible for voting, Mike Creglow's 1965 Satellite attracted
enough attention to win Best in Class Race Car. Mike's Plymouth is a full on drag
racer boasting a 499 CID 400 wedge motor designed and built by Lofgren Automotive. A
reverse valve body 727 backs the wedge. Besides the complete restoration work, MCR also
installed mini tubs and a fully licensed 9-second NHRA roll cage. A first place trophy
its first time out shows that Mike's '65 looks as good as it will go.
